First ever film of Appalachian music

I love bluegrass, and this hundred-year-old clip even has buck dancing! After hearing the tune, I immediately thought of "Country Boy" by John Denver. Video by The Folk Revival Project.

Young lady recreates "Sweatin to the Oldies"

If you remember doing this back in the day, be prepared to feel *real old.* My mother had the VHS tape, and I did it once or twice ... but I was already pretty fit. This workout was no joke, though ... it was fun but you really did sweat!

pan nanpa wan (song in Toki Pona)

I tried learning Toki Pona (a minimalist, constructed language) a while back. I gave up when I tired of it, because, how minimalist is learning a language I'll never use? I've always loved the idea of a universal language, though, and Toki Pona is probably simplest of them all. This is a charming song, and there's a new course out there on youtube with "Carl Jr." teaching the language in glyph form, which is much more fun than learning it using the Roman alphabet, IMO.
